The Appearing Flower is great fun in a kid's magic show; children LOVE this type of magic. Use this in almost any celebration; from mother's day to an anniversary.
For those in ministry there is no a better illustration of spiritual growth. Use it with any of Jesus' parables about farmers, seeds and flowers. 'Other seed fell on good soil and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.' (Lk. 8:8). Add some magic to a message on the Sermon on the Mount. 'Consider how the wild flowers grow. The Appearing Flower can be turned into a signature routine with some props and bits of business. For example, give your helper a pair of oversized gardening gloves and a hat to wear. Ask them to water the seed with the 'invisible watering can.' Hand then a breakaway wand for extra fun and finally, have your volunteer wave the wand and make the flower appear. Five minutes of magical fun.
Use it as a running gag that you come back to throughout your show until, at the end, it blooms!
