24-carrot gold comedy magic!
The performer pulls a delicious-looking large carrot out a paper bag – magic is hungry work, but there’s no time to eat in the middle of a show, so he goes to put it away! As he puts it down, another carrot magically appears at his fingertips. Confused, the magician puts that one away…but there’s another! Then another, and another, and another…until there are enough carrots to make Bugs Bunny drool!
As a kicker ending, the magician asks the audience to guess how many carrots went into the bag. Five? Ten? Nope! The bag is turned upside down to show it is now completely EMPTY!
Now you're set up for a biblical message. Carrots help us see in the dark. But we can see much better with a light to help us find our way, like Jesus who the light of the world.
These are lovely handmade Alexander May sponge carrots. An orange sponge carrot topped off with a green sponge leaves. (Dan's using a different style of carrot in the video.) The effect take only one simple move - you'll surprise yourself how deceptive it is. It looks like real magic!
For entertainers, this is a fun piece of magic that can be used throughout the year. A church worker can use it to illustrate many different biblical messages, including:
- Forgiving 70 x 7. Jesus teaches us to forgive and forgive again "Lord, how often shall I forgive my bother?...Up to seventy times seven.' Matt 18:22
- Feeding of the 5000. Relate the story whilst you multiply the carrots. Make it clear it was bread and not carrots! Luke 9:1-17.
- We Always Want More! People are never satisfied! We seek more money, power, and fame. Only God can satisfy.
Combine this effect with another favourite routine. If you have a rabbit puppet, try tempt them out with one carrot, two carrots... dozens of carrots! For the classic cake bake routine, use these to make a carrot cake!
